Motivation

AllGame (Q18984) shut down at the end of 2014, but to this day its video game genre ontology is still detailed and relevant. It structures genres into 15 high-level "genres", with subgenres as "styles". The high-level ones are not uninteresting, but the sub-genres are where the database really shines in my opinion. The Mix’n’match catalogue I made ~3 years ago has 100+ matches already.
