ACHING FOR EIGHT: Whitecaps FC 2 will be looking to continue climbing the Western Conference standings in MLS NEXT Pro this weekend. Currently sitting third in the West with 31 points, WFC2 are set to host Cascadia rivals and sixth placed Tacoma Defiance on Sunday at Swangard Stadium. The young 'Caps will look to extend their seven-game winning streak to eight and earn their sixth consecutive home win. During their seven-game winning run, the team has scored 20 goals and kept three clean sheets. WFC2 will be hoping for some revenge on Saturday, with Tacoma claiming a shootout victory in the first meeting of the season back in April.

JUNE'S BEST: WFC2 have some of June's best in MLS NEXT Pro heading into the month July. The team received recognition from the league for a pair of MLS NEXT Pro Monthly Awards, with head coach Ricardo Clark receiving the Coach of the Month after leading the side to a perfect 5W-0L-0D record in June. Wingback Eliot Goldthorp was also named the league's Player of the Month. Goldthorp tallied the most goal contributions in the league during the month of June, recording five goals as well as four assists in four starts and five appearances.

SCORING FOR FUN: Not only have the young 'Caps been putting up points in the standings lately, but they've also been firing on all cylinders in front of goal. The squad has scored three or more goals in six of their last nine matches, scoring four goals in three of those outings. WFC2 also sits tied for the most goals in the Western Conference with 34 and hold the third-best goal differential in the league with +13.
