Kid Captain

Whitecaps FC are honoured to have Ian Culbert from Special Olympics BC as Kid Captain for Wednesday’s home match against Sporting Kansas City.

Hailing from Coquitlam, Ian is a 17-year-old with a mega-watt smile and a heart of gold. Ian was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition at 18 months of age, and his future mobility and speech abilities were unclear. Nowadays, it's hard to keep Ian still! He loves bike riding, swimming, Challenger Baseball and all his activities with the Special Olympics: playing basketball, soccer and bocce.

Please join in welcoming Ian to the match!

Supporter of the Match

Wednesday's Supporter of the Match is Ciarán Nicoll from the Southsiders.

Ciarán has been a supporter for seven years, and has also previously been a season ticket holder at Celtic. His favourite moment is winning the Canadian Championship in 2023, and Portland away in 2018 when Techera scored on a header. His favourite part about being a supporter is helping the growth of football culture in Canada, and to meet great people.
