Edwin has been practicing mechanical consulting (HVAC, Plumbing & Fire
Protection) for more than two decades, and has extensive design, project
management, and energy related experience. He continues to specialize in
complex heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for residential, educational,
institutional, commercial and light industrial facilities; including
multi-family residential (townhouse to high-rise), education facilities (K-12
& post-secondary), prison, fire-hall, police station, hospital and executive
offices; as well as agricultural research facilities. Projects have included
specialty and trade system designs engineered to resolve the client’s
specific concerns. Recent excursions to Austria and Germany have enabled
Edwin to further expand his understanding of the use of carbon neutral
biomass energy sources and related fuel generation, storage and handling
systems.

As an Accredited Professional of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED) program, Edwin has participated in numerous “green”
projects, including projects achieving Certified (2), Silver (1), Gold (2),
and Platinum (1) rankings in new construction and existing buildings, with
multiple others pending. He has also provided design for projects achieving
UBC Residential Environmental Assessment Program (REAP) rankings of Certified
(1), Bronze (1), Silver (2), Gold (2), and Platinum (1) rankings. Edwin is
interested in the proper application of cutting edge technology, sustainable
engineering principles, and the proper integration of alternate energy
sources, which result in sustainable engineering design. Specialties include
open and closed loop geo-exchange systems, air-to-water heat pumps, solar
thermal, wastewater heat recovery, and hot water heating plants.

As a Team Lead, Edwin manages a team of engineers and technologists who
assist him in maximizing the limits of mechanical system design, and enables
him to provide an exceptional level of service to his clients.
