Nashville Predators to open 2024-25 season at home against Dallas Stars

The Nashville Predators will open the 2024-25 season at home against the Dallas Stars on Thursday, Oct. 10.

The league announced home openers for all 32 NHL teams on Monday, the same day that teams are looking to sign free agents for the upcoming season.

The full NHL schedule is expected to be released later this week.

Nashville's home opener against Dallas will be the first time the two teams will meet at Bridgestone Arena to open the season. The Predators played the Stars on the road to open the 2009-10 and 2001-02 seasons.

The Predators are in the middle of a busy free agency day, where they are reportedly have signed Tampa Bay Lightning star Steven Stamkos. They've also been rumored to be looking at Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Brady Skjei and Vegas Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault.

At the NHL Draft over the weekend, the Predators drafted eight players, including first-round pick Egor Surin of the KHL.
