The Nashville Predators and Alex Carrier have agreed to a three-year contract worth $11.25 million, the team announced Monday.
Carrier, 27, had four goals and 16 assists in 73 games with the Predators last season. He averaged 18:48 minutes of ice time, third-most among defensemen on the team.
A fourth-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, Carrier has played in 217 games for the Predators after making his debut on Jan. 17, 2017.
Last year, Carrier played mostly on a pairing with Jeremy Lauzon. Both players are signed now through the 2025-26 season.
The Carrier announcement followed a busy day for the Predators.

General manager Barry Trotz snagged three of the top available free agents: forward Steven Stamkos, forward Jonathan Marchessault and defenseman Brady Skjei. They also added goaltender Scott Wedgewood as a backup goaltender to Juuse Saros, who agreed to an eight-year contract extension.
According to Cap Friendly, after these moves, the Predators have less than $1 million of cap space remaining going into the 2024-25 season.
