Bangor University has a thriving and diversified student community. There is something for everyone among their more than 150 Student Union Clubs and Societies, which span a variety of sports, hobbies, and interests. Since student membership is free, all of their pupils participate in the available extracurricular activities. The 2023 WhatUni Student Choice Awards also recognised their Students Union as top 10 in the UK.
Students receive assistance and support as soon as they arrive. Their Student Services Centre offers information and advice on a range of topics, including finances and accommodation as well as counselling, study skills, dyslexia, and access to local religious services. Thousands of second- and third-year students get training each year to serve as peer guides, who welcome new students to Bangor and offer helpful tips to make them feel at home.
Life at Bangor
Having work experience is essential for landing a job after graduation. They provide a range of opportunities for students to develop important employability skills, including assisting them with any work placements or internships they may choose to pursue.
Students can choose to do a placement as part of nearly every undergraduate degree we offer at Bangor to increase their employability. It is possible to do a placement for a year (taken between years 2 and 3), three months, or two weeks (minimum 70 hours, completed during year 2). Previous and present students have collaborated with a broad range of placement providers and have been assigned to work with hosts including Santander Bank, Siemens Healthineers, Coutts, Venue Cymru, WRU, BBC Cymru, Zip World, and Gen2.
Undergraduate and graduate students at Bangor University can participate in professional internship programmes while honing their abilities and earning money twice a year. Students can participate in a variety of internships, from marketing and advertising to medical research. Internships provide beneficial experience in a working environment.
