DB coach at his current school. I have seen Tim Banks name mentioned a few times which would be a solid hire if true and would explain Reed departing.

Look into Banks more. The more you look, the worse it gets. If he's the hire, it's truly the most mind boggling decision in Dabo's tenure imo. He's not an upgrade over Wes, on the field anyway.

* 3 of 4 years of 120+ ranking in pass defense at Tennessee
* Avg. 25+ points given up over the course of his career as DC. For comparison, Venables is at 18.2 over his 20 year career and Wes is at 21.8 over 3 years at Clemson.
* Has had multiple years where his defenses averaged 30+ a game.
* Gave up 63 to the Coots just 2 years ago. The most points the Coots scored that year vs any team. Wes gave up 31 to them that year.
I could go on. Like I said, it gets worse the more you look.

Wow, these numbers say it all. However, I will say when Dabo goes outside and makes a hire normally it works. Riley has been somewhat disappointing but I think that was mostly over expectations on everyone's part. He had to overhaul the system and get some better-skill players into place. We'll see what happens, Go Tigers!

I hate to see him go but if he's offered a promotion somewhere else then I wish him best of luck with a ton of appreciation for what he did for Clemson.

It could also mean that Jim Leonhard is a candidate. His name seems to be mentioned a lot at Clemson. We will see.
