His teams have always been terrible at rebounding and blocking out. ALWAYS. Only years we were good at rebounding is when we had gifted athletes. It has never been as a team, taught, emphasized, etc. There is one example that just shows the exactly what I mean. And this goes on and on. Yes, I coached BB for 11 years, some of you know that. I have stated it often in years past. BUT . . . . with time running out, and the other team throws up a 3 pt shoot, only to miss and be offensively rebounded by the shooter . . and for a game tying lay up . . . is unacceptable. It's more than unacceptable. It can never happen and should not happen if some rebounding basics are followed. You always block out the shooter. He can see where the ball is going the best. So if you don't stick your body on him, he can get to it. It's basic people. You learn this at the lowest levels of B Ball, but Browny doesn't see it as important. I know this because it happens too often. I've pulled players out of the game for not blocking out. And blocking the shooter is a no brainer. And I don't, in this case, blame it all on the player, because the same crap has been going on for year after year. He does not stress rebounding in the correct form and function. That shooter gets blocked out and the game is over in regulation . . .regardless of how poorly we played.
