Yes! I couldn't put this book down

Lately it seems like the authors I usually read have been writing a lot of contemporary romances but Teresa Medeiros has taken me back with another fantastic historical romance. Ending what seemed to be an endless dry spell of crappy books I can gladly say that this is a fun read that you won't want to put down. As the oldest daughter of a poor Baron Emmaline Marlowe is set to sacrifice herself as the bride of the elderly Earl of Hepburn in order to restore the funds that she feels she has cost her family. Resigned to her fate she is ready to say her vows when Jamie Sinclair, the dangerous and dashing enemy of the Earl kidnaps her on her wedding day. Hoping to use her to trade back to the Earl for something that will help Jamie solve the murder of his parents he plans to stay detached from her as much as possible. Thinking Emma to be some boring English girl he is unprepared for the fiery temperament she exhibits and she uses this to her advantage. What Emma didn't expect was to fall for the roughly handsome Jamie-he is vastly different from her previous love interests. From start to finish I liked the characters of Emma and Jamie. Emma was willing to do anything out of loyalty for her family and Jamie was the same way with his clan. Interesting subplots kept me reading page after page and you couldn't help but fall in love with Jamie's wild ways. Wanting to find out who and what murdered Jamie's parents also made it so that I wasn't able to go to sleep until I finished the book. This book was like a ray of sunshine in the crap I've read this summer so I have a new restored hope for romance novels in the future. An easy read with likable characters will make this an easy add to your reading list.

"Great Read"

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Ms. Maderios never dissapoints. Her writing paints a wonderful story, that puts you right into the book with the characters.A strong brooding highlander, & a meek young lass, who grows spunkier each day after he kidnaps her at the altar(bursting into the abby on a black steed no less!) as she is about to marry an old curmudgeon of wealth & title...to save her family from financial ruin. Lots of twists & mysteries to unravel..and plenty of "steamy"stuff too!

Loved it!

I'm a big Teresa Medeiros fan, and this is one of my favorites. I already read it three times. I just love the scene when Jamie steals Emma from the altar. Soooo romantic!

THE DEVIL WEARS PLAID & I get an eyeful!

The start of the story alone is worth the price of the book. When Jamie steals Emmaline from her wedding, I was laughing and cheering. The good part is, as the book went along, I was anticipating everything that happened, and at the same time the hero and heroine surprised me over and over with their converstaions and their characters. I love Teresa's older romances, they're very fresh, funny and appealing -- I think because I like the way she tells a story -- but she added a depth of emotion to DEVIL WEARS PLAID that made me fall in love while Jamie and Emmaline did. The only problem was, the book ended. A definite recommend.

S Thomas Review

"The Devil Wears Plaid" is about one mans quest for answers, revenge and justice. Jamie abducts Emma from the church where she is about to marry a very old man to save her father from debtors prison. Jamie thinks to ransom Emma for a locket that belonged to his mother. The book was funny at times and I could feel Jamie's anger and hurt when he discovered who had murdered his parents. This is the 3rd book I have read by Teresa Medeiros and I have enjoyed every one. But I like this one best.
