Fun with the Goddess's

If you are into the TV show of this series, the books are a good background filler of the ongoing fun. The TV series only takes a part of the book series. The art is good and the stories are light [fun and trouble with the charactors in different situations]. If you are into Japanise Anime and art styles and enjoy light stories and humor, you might get hooked on this series of books/DVDs. Note that story arcs do cross different volumes. Yes, I do enjoy the series and this book. Dark Horse is re-doing this series to be more in line with the Japanise home editions. Just read from back to front [right to left] and enjoy!

weird fun

I think this was the second Oh My Goddess book I'd ever read. I didn't know who Urd was, and there wasn't anything at the beginning of the book that explained things for me, so I was worried. It turned out that it didn't matter - it didn't take me long to figure out who Urd was and what she was like (definitely not another Belldandy). I'd recommend at least reading the first book before trying this, but overall I think it's pretty easy to follow, which is more than I can say for some of the other manga things I've read recently. The first story, with the Campus Queen competition, was great, and I thought the story where Keiichi was trying to get a present for Belldandy was pretty sweet. I loved the whole book, and I definitely recommend it. Still, from what I've seen in the other reviews, this may not be something you'll want to get if you've been collecting Oh My Goddess comics before (lack of never-before-published comics) - but if you're like me, and only just getting started, this book is great.

Volume 3: Life and School

This is book three of the "Oh My Goddess" manga (comic). It is a pretty small book and contains several tales which show Belldandy's and Keiichi's day-to-day life both at home and school. The first tale has Belldandy and Urd entering a Nekomi Tech beauty contest sponsored by the Motor Club, thus challenging previous queen Sayoko. The 2nd story centers around Keiichi's desire to buy Belldandy a ring (OAV viewers will recognize this story). The third tale is about Belldandy and Keiichi's date at a fancy restaurant where Urd and Sayoko also decide to go to.The fourth story takes place at the Morisato (Keiichi) residence with various people coming by for a New Years party where Urd pulls out a special game of "Life". Next, we have Keiichi's attempt to study and take his final exam as his friends try to "help" him.The final story has the entrance of Sayoko's cousin Aoshima. Like Sayoko, Aoshima is very devious and is used to getting anything he wants. He now wants Belldandy.Bottom line: The art continues to improve and the stories are fun. The relationship between Belldandy and Keiichi continues to progress slightly which is nice. "Oh My Goddess" movie/OAV fans will love this. Manga fans, this is a worthy addition to your collection.

rehash

... there are only two new stories in this vol, but ...if you are a huge ah my goddess fan you should purchase this boo. I myself am a huge fan of sayoko mishima, so it was a very easy decision for me to purchase this book, coonsidering that she is a major player in the first of the two stories. when you read the second half you might notice that it is remeniscent of the OVAs 4 and 5. No belldandy is not going to be taken away by kamisama, but the ring does make an appearance. A fun read for the AMG! fan who needs to read the complete series.
