Hidden Figures is an exciting biography

I loved this book for several reasons. First of all, it was a true story of a group of brilliant black women who succeeded in the aeronautics industry of America that eventually became NASA. Secondly, these women were role models as strong, motivated and unstoppable in engineering and mathematics. Thirdly, these women provided encouragement and leadership with high standards to extend the bridge to the next generation of girls. Last of all, a biography shares a social and psychological connection between the reader and its characters. A great book to motivate females of all ages to get an education.

Celebrating Black History Month: 14 Black Scientists Who Changed the World

Black history IS history, and Black History Month is a time to celebrate both contemporary and traditional black history, beginning with a nod to Dr. Carter G. Woodson, the scholar who established what we now celebrate in an effort to collect, document, and backfill all of the history that was missing because it never made it into the books. Below are 14 scientists, mathematicians, and engineers who have made significant contributions to furthering the human race for people of all color.
