OASIS fans are convinced they know who will be supporting them on tour after spotting a "clue".

All eyes are now on who will be chosen as their support act for the series of concerts across the UK and Ireland.

And some fans think they have sussed out the answer - pinpointing Indie rock band The Blossoms.

Like Oasis, The Blossoms emerged from the Manchester music scene, albeit a generation later, and their sound has often been compared to the Gallagher brothers' group.

Fans noted that the band posted the same video teaser after their gig in Manchester as Liam Gallagher shared at Reading Festival, with the date of Tuesday's reunion announcement.

This strongly suggests that they could be the chosen act, supporters think.

Music magazine NME posed the question of the support act on their Instagram feed and a slew of fans suggested that The Blossoms would be a perfect fit.

One said: “I am guessing The Blossoms as they gave the same cryptic message at their last gig.”

Another said: “Blossoms, Kasabian, Fontaines DC.”

A third wrote: “Blossoms, they posted the exact same 'Oasis date' on the screen during their live performance at Manchester last week.”

And another said: “Blossoms are looking likely.”

Earlier this week, Liam and Noel Gallaher confirmed Oasis' long-awaited reunion with a statement revealing they had put their 15-year feud behind them.

They said: “The guns have fallen silent, the stars have aligned and the great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

A black and white photo of the brothers both wearing dark jackets was also released as part of the announcement.

The band, whose era-defining album Definitely Maybe was released 30 years ago, will begin their tour in Cardiff next July.

They will also visit Manchester Heaton Park, London’s Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium and Dublin’s Croke Park during July and August.

Liam , 51, later clarified on social media that the UK and Ireland leg will be the only European dates.
