IT’S Earth Day, so join in by embracing eco-friendly habits at home.
Repurposing household items is a win-win for both your wallet and the environment.
Find out how saving the planet could save you cash too . . .
SILVER LINING: Cut supermarket bills by giving baking foil a new lease of life.
Rinse it with washing-up liquid and hot water after each use and reuse several times.
Do this with sandwich bags too, or switch to reusable beeswax wrap to keep food fresh.

Fill the bottles and spray away.
BOTTLE IT: Instead of buying single-use plastic bottles of water, give empty wine bottles a new lease of life.
Put them in the dishwasher or rinse thoroughly and leave them to soak in hot water to remove the label, then fill with tap water and refrigerate, so you always have chilled water.
Some water bottle lids fit wine bottle tops, so you can attach them and use the bottles on the go, such as for picnics.
BAG IT UP: Instead of tossing plastic bags away, reuse them as bin liners for small waste baskets at home.
Or stuff shoes with them, so your footwear keeps its shape.
JAMMY IDEA: Save glass jam and honey jars and give them a good rinse. You can repurpose them as storage containers for spices, stock cubes or your own homemade jams and sauces.
RAGS TO RICHES: Old T-shirts cut into smaller sections make great cleaning rags.
Found an old odd sock? Save it, wear it over your hand and use it with a spray cleaner to buff mirrors and glass surfaces.
