Kenan Thompson will set a record next season for longest running cast member when he enters his 15th season on the show. Even though number 15 will be a record it still seems like Kenan is far from done working on SNL. To me it seems like he could possibly go for 20 seasons. I still think he has a good 5-6 seasons left in him. And even though many cast members chose to leave after a certain amount of time there is no rule that you must leave.

Well, as of October 21, 2023 he has surpassed the 20 & made it to 21.

the way I see it.... he has no talent so he’s scared to try movies or other shows... plus SNL is afraid to fire him because of backlash they might get for firing a black member.... so he feels safe here.

I think he's funny! But for being 'untalented' he sure has been in a lot of TV & movies!

ok... I would have to analyze that... but probably from that long list maybe only 3 titles might have been popular.... Otherwise, we all need to pay mortgage so he took anything and everything that came across his desk.... much like Nicolas Cage has done all throughout his career.... Just for the paycheck... and when is done for the paycheck they’ll sign up for any amount and therefore not give their best performance.

I’ve always been a big fan of Kenan going all the way back to when I was a kid watching Kenan and Kel. I’m glad he’s still on SNL, and I support him being there for as long as he wants. I think he’s genuinely liked by Lorne Michaels and everybody at NBC. They’ve fired plenty of people before, so I have no doubt they’d fire him if they wanted. He’s honestly a great veteran presence on the show. I think he’s smart to stick around too. It’s a stable job and paycheck. He gets to be apart of a legendary series. It’s a win win for him.

Kenan rocks. I hope he sticks around forever. It’s nice to see an SNL cast member grow roots. Too many run off to focus on a film career with spotty success or we never hear from them again. Kenan is sticking with what made him a hit, and as long as he’s on the show I’ll keep tuning in.
