Zbigniew Herbert

Zbigniew Herbert was a poet, playwright, and essayist born in Lvov, Poland. He fought with the underground resistance during World War II. A collection of his poems and plays translated by Alissa Valles, Reconstruction of the Poet, is forthcoming this month.
