Sail through stunning Thames reaches with a reserved table and cream tea.
Sailing from Caversham Pier, we head downstream from Reading, navigating two locks and passing under one of the most iconic bridges on the mid and upper Thames.
With your own reserved table and steward on-board we will sail through Caversham and Sonning Locks leaving the busy town behind us entering stunning and tranquil Thames countryside as cream tea is served.

The round-trip cruise will pass through Sonning Lock and under Sonning Bridge (a real gem of a photo opportunity on the way back upstream) before winding it's way through the Shiplake reach. Meandering around twists and turns, passing islands, riverside homes, rowing clubs and open country, this is perhaps our most intriguing Thames journey. The steward and crew will serve cream tea consisting of scones, Cornish clotted cream and jam*. Don't feel compelled to stay inside, take the air on the foredeck or snap away with your camera out the window.
The exact turning point within the reach may vary depending on the level of river traffic passing through the two locks.
*Our scones are baked fresh in an artisan bakery where nuts may be present thus we can not be 100% sure that no contact with nuts has taken place. If you would like vegan tea (alternative scones and cream) please indicate when purchasing tickets.
Also check our cream tea cruise to Pangbourne which runs alternate weeks to this cruise.
