A podcast exploring the struggles of the social care system has been downloaded over 1,000 times.

Hosted by Wiltshire social care expert Janet Shreeve, the podcast "You Care, I Care" was launched in late 2023 to provide insights and advice for professionals in the care sector.

The podcast also highlights the experiences of individuals within the sector, those who require care, and offers a glimpse into the current landscape of social care.

Janet expressed her delight at the engagement with the podcast and extended her gratitude to all participating guests.

She stated: "During 2025, I’ll be sharing more stories for those trying to access care, for whatever reason, those who have received great care and those who have not.

"I’ll also be sharing the stories of many people within the social care sectors from business owners, through to specialists, staff and carers themselves."

Some of Janet's most popular episodes include:

Carer David "Budge" Price recounting his social care struggles while looking after his wife.

Josh Doherty detailing his journey into social care and the Bristol-based organisation he now runs.

Yusuf Abubaker narrating his inspiring experiences in the care sector across Gloucestershire, Bristol, Swindon, and Bath.

Joey Williams-Pears sharing her transition from NHS SAS to social care, addressing her frustrations with bureaucratic hurdles.

Qualified divorce and relationship coach Vanessa White discussing how her divorce led to an alternative method of providing care.

The podcast "You Care, I Care" will continue throughout 2025, with a commitment to releasing two episodes a month, primarily recorded at the Swindon 105.5 studios in Liden, Swindon.

Listeners can anticipate upcoming episodes featuring Vicki Head discussing the challenges of securing care for her special-needs child, an update from Swindon carer Budge Price on his ongoing support search for his wife, and Dan Burner sharing his story about working in care.

Janet indicated her plans to continue the podcast, saying: "I’ve got some amazing episodes to come as I talk to more interesting people about all aspects of care generally and social care specifically.

"I will also be updating some stories where progress has been made – or not.

"I firmly believe many people learn from the experiences of others so I’m planning to continue this podcast.

"I believe, with the strain on the social care system and the refusal of successive governments to properly invest in having a system which works and which provides excellent care, that these stories are more important than they have ever been."

"You Care, I Care" is available on all standard podcast platforms, as well as on the Shreeve Care Services website.
