The transfer window will slam shut in merely a matter of hours but all of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are expected to strengthen before the deadline. The Gunners have already signed Mikel Merino and are closing in on a deal to bring Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia to the club, with Aaron Ramsdale set to join Southampton in a permanent deal.
Chelsea, meanwhile, remain interested in a new striker. Ivan Toney is a target heading into the closing stages of the window, although Victor Osimhen remains on the radar too after the Napoli striker snubbed a move to Saudi Arabia, particularly now Romelu Lukaku has joined the Italian club.
Manchester United are set to seal a deal to bring Manuel Ugarte to the club after months of talks, while Liverpool are due to announce the arrival of Federico Chiesa, who could be followed by Rayan Cherki and Mohamed Simakan. Newcastle set to give up on Marc Guehi
Marc Guehi is increasingly expected to remain at Crystal Palace this season.
Newcastle have been pushing to sign the centre-back this summer, with their latest bid a club-record £65m plus £5m in add-ons.
However, with Palace still refusing to sell, Sky Sports report that Newcastle are now likely to walk over and pursue other targets over the next 24 hours.
Armando Broja to Ipswich OFF
Ipswich will not sign Armando Broja, with the striker now set to stay at Chelsea
The clubs had agreed a loan deal with a £30m obligation to buy next summer if Ipswich stay up this summer. However, a foot injury showed up during Broja’s injury.
There have still been talks over the move going ahead, but The Athletic report that deal is now off and Broja is set to stay at Chelsea to recover from the foot issue.

Tino Anjorin has also left Chelsea to join an Italian side, with the midfielder making the move to Empoli.
The 22-year-old has signed a three-year contract.
Done deal! Romelu Lukaku joins Napoli
Romelu Lukaku has completed a move to Napoli.
The Belgian international has ended a nightmare second spell at Chelsea by retuning with Antonio Conte for around £30m.
Lukaku won Serie A under Conte’s stewardship at Inter Milan in 2021 and his form saw the Blues splash out £97.5m to bring the striker back to Stamford Bridge later that year.
That move proved unsuccessful and Lukaku last played for the London club in May 2022, joining both Inter and Roma on loan in recent years.
Lukaku has signed a three-year contract in Naples and his arrival could pave the way for Victor Osimhen to leave the club.

Liverpool have announced the signing of Federico Chiesa from Juventus.
