Three teenagers have pleaded guilty to involvement in the stabbing of a transgender girl in a suspected hate crime.

The victim, 18, was attending a rollerskating party with friends when she was surrounded and attacked by a group, as well as allegedly being subjected to transphobic slurs.

She was hospitalised after the incident and is said to have suffered 14 stab injuries.

Six defendants - Summer Betts-Ramsey, 19, Bradley Harris, Shiloh Hindes, and Camron Osei, all 18, and a boy and a girl, both 16, - are charged with attempted murder.

Betts-Ramsey, Harris, and Hindes have all pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, admitting they played a role in the violent attack, but they continue to deny the attempted murder charge.

The 16-year-old girl, who cannot be named due to her age, admits stealing the victim’s bag while she was being attacked. But she has denied charges relating to the violence.

Osei and the unnamed 16-year-old boy also deny attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm charges relating to the incident.

The Old Bailey has heard Betts-Ramsey stabbed the victim repeatedly, while others joined in the violence.

Betts-Ramsey has also pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon.

At court on Friday, Judge Philip Katz KC agreed that the guilty pleas entered by the defendants could be reported for the first time.

A trial date on the charges that are denied is currently set for January 20 next year.

The incident unfolded near to Harrow Leisure Centre in Wealdstone, northwest London on February 10 this year.

“This has been prosecuted as a transphobic hate crime. The victim is a transgender female,” prosecutor Bunsri Bhuwa told an earlier court hearing.

Hindes, from Burcher Gale Grove in Peckham, Betts-Ramsey, from Cotswolds Gardens in Cricklewood, Harris, from Carmelite Road in Harrow, Osei, of Kinloch Road, in Tadworth, Surrey, and the 16-year-old girl have all been remanded in custody.

The 16-year-old boy is on conditional bail.
