The latest edition of WWE SmackDown was pre-taped in light of their Live Tours in Japan. After Tonga Loa's attack last week, he injured his eye, which left him unable to compete in the Tag Team Gauntlet match.
His brother, Tama Tonga teamed up with Jacob Fatu and competed in the match which they eventually won. They will face DIY for the WWE Tag Team Championship next week.
Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair challenged the Women's Tag Team Champions, Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre, to a match, which was made official later during the show.
Cody Rhodes sent The Bloodline a message in a pre-taped clip during the WWE tour in Japan. Solo Sikoa retaliated and addressed Roman Reigns' return,
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
Let's take a look at the best and worst from WWE SmackDown this week:
Best: Andrade and Carmelo Hayes getting more WWE screen time, and the onset of intense rivalry
At Money in the Bank, Andrade and Carmelo Hayes kicked off a singles feud. Last week, they competed against each other, but they still have some unresolved issues.
On the latest episode of the blue brand, Hayes interrupted an interview with Andrade backstage. The two took shots at each other, indicating this was just the beginning of things to come for their feud.
The two have similar wrestling styles and tactics. Their agility and wit in the ring enable a promising feud, which also paves the way for more television time and engagement for the WWE stars.
Andrade's limited matches after his return earlier this year and then becoming Speed Champion threatened his run in the company. Hopefully, this feud would enhance their capabilities in the ring, showcasing their talents.
Worst: Bayley getting pinned on SmackDown; sneak peek into short title reign?
Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton forged a friendship over time. Recently, on SmackDown, they teamed up against Bayley and Michin.
Jax hitched her title opportunity at SummerSlam when she became Queen of the Ring. Soon after, Tiffany Stratton won the MITB briefcase. In the meantime, their friendship bloomed. They started working together to take down whoever they disliked, including Bayley, who was on the warpath.
Tiffany Stratton pinned the WWE Women's Champion in the SmackDown main event, earning her team the win. Does that indicate a sign of things to come at SummerSlam? It remains to be seen how far Nia Jax will go to test their newly formed friendship.
Best: Logan Paul and LA Knight's feud buildup
LA Knight and Santos Escobar fought on WWE SmackDown, which hinted at the latter's new alliance with Logan Paul.
Despite the United States Champion being involved, LA Knight emerged as the winner. Logan Paul and Santos Escobar attacked the challenger. Later, the champion cited that 'Mr. Cleveland' and a big surprise was headed to SummerSlam, leaving his identity open to interpretation. The Biggest Event of the Summer is taking place in Logan Paul's hometown, expanding the list of celebrity appearances.
Their feud sparked last year a little before Money in the Bank. Knight's quest for gold never halted, and his run-ins with Paul made their rivalry personal.
