Star singer Beyoncé brought daughter Blue Ivy during her NFL Halftime Show on Christmas Day. The halftime performance occurred in the singer's hometown of Houston, Texas, during the game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium.
The songstress sang renditions from her latest album, Cowboy Carter. Several musicians who featured on the project, including Post Malone and Shaboozey, joined her on stage during the 13-minute set. However, Blue Ivy's performance caught the eye of netizens.
As videos from the event began circulating online, internet users took to X to praise Blue. One wrote:
"Blue was a PAID DANCER for this performance."
Netizens continued to gush about Blue Ivy, one even saying she was Beyoncé's twin. Here are some comments seen under @theshaderoom's post on Instagram.
Other users continued praising Blue for her performance; one compared her to her mother.
Beyoncé changed a line from Texas Hold 'Em during the show to reference Blue Ivy
Wednesday's performance was preceded by a joint Instagram post between Beyoncé, the NFL, and Netflix. The caption read:
"I’m sending you big joy and love on this Cowboy Christmas Eve. I’ll see y’all tomorrow, in my city HTX."
Wednesday's performance saw the Halo hitmaker on a white horse entering the stadium, donning a white-feathered gown and cowboy hat. She opened the halftime show with her single 16 Carriages, the lead single (along with Texas Hold 'Em) from Cowboy Carter.
This was the first time Beyoncé performed tracks from the project live.
As her set continued, the singer was joined by country singers Tiera Kennedy, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, and Reyna Roberts to perform Blackbird. Shaboozey later appeared to perform their collaboration from the album Sweet Honey Buckiin and SPAGHETTII, followed by Post Malone, who sang Levii's Jeans with Beyoncé.
The 32-time Grammy-winning singer concluded her show by calling upon Blue as she performed Texas Hold 'Em. According to People magazine, the track featured a lyric change to reference Blue:
"Then spin me in the middle, Blue, I can't read your mind."
The pair performed a line dance before the singer exited the stadium on a platform. Some of the other songs that Beyoncé sang during her set were Ya Ya, Jolene, My House, and Riverdance. The show also featured 200 members of Texas Southern University’s Ocean of Soul Marching Band and the Texans Cheerleaders, who wowed the audience with their sound and choreography.
Immediately following the show, the singer shared an Instagram post of herself on a white horse waving the American flag with a title card displaying the date January 14, 2025. Fans believe she is teasing a Cowboy Carter tour.
This was not the Single Ladies artists' performance at a game. In 2013, she headlined Super Bowl XLVII and joined Coldplay and Bruno Mars in 2016 for their Super Bowl XV performance. The halftime show, which Netflix dubbed the "Beyoncé Bowl," will be available to stream on the platform next week.
