Blessing Your Future Now
DON’T FRET… PSALM 37
Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong;
2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.
3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Take delight in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.
7 Be still before the LORD
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
HOW DO YOU THINK ABOUT YOUR FUTURE?
• “My future will be full of God’s goodness, with some
troubles along the way.”
• “My future will be full of trouble, with some of God’s
goodness along the way.”
• “My future will simply be an extension of what my life is
like now”
• “I have no future”
HOW TO “PROPHESY” YOUR FUTURE
1. Anchor your future in eternity, not in this passing world – it is
GOOD!
2. Resist comparing your life to others - your blessings are unique
3. Be happy for the blessings of others – it will increase your faith
4. Covenant with God for a good future
* I will trust, take delight in, commit my way to, be still before,
wait patiently for the Lord
* He will: give me the desires of my heart, make my righteous
reward shine like the sun, and vindicate me,
PROPHESY THE MOUNTAIN TOPS
PRAY ABOUT THE FUTURE YOU WANT,
NOT THE FUTURE YOU FEAR
Envision the “Mountaintops” of the
landscape of your future (You can’t know
what’s in the valleys – leave that to God).
* Praying in faith is praying about the
mountaintops
* Praying from fear is praying about the
valleys
