A POPULAR open space is set to undergo three months of resurfacing work.
Salisbury City Council has announced that work to the Southampton Road pedestrian entrance by the toilets in Churchill Gardens will begin on Monday, September 2, with an anticipated completion date of Monday, December 2.
The project will involve the removal of damaged paving slabs, which will be replaced with new tarmac pathways and green spaces.
The council adds that the improvements will also include additional tree planting, "aligning with its Tree & Ecosystem Strategy commitment to increase canopy cover across the city".
For the duration of the works, the paths around the Southampton Road entrance will be fenced off, and there will be no pedestrian access.
Visitors are encouraged to use alternative routes around the park.
Access to the toilets and water fountain at this entrance will be temporarily unavailable during the construction period.
Kiwi Coffee will be temporarily relocated elsewhere within the park, and to check its Facebook page here for updates.
Additionally, the Salisbury parkrun will operate a slightly modified course during this period.

Salisbury City Council said: "We appreciate the public's understanding and cooperation as we work to improve the park's facilities."
