The Cattaraugus County Youth Bureau is pleased to announce that this week’s featured Youth Citizenship Award recipient is Jaelyn Wojewoda-Ko. She is the daughter of Paula Wojewoda-Ko and Richard Ko and a graduate of Allegany-Limestone Central School.

Wojewoda-Ko was nominated by her parents, who describe her as a well-rounded individual with high standards and goals. This fall, Wojewoda-Ko is attending college to continue her studies in the psychology field. Her end goal is to receive a PhD.

Wojewoda-Ko’s community service background includes volunteering with the back-to-school program for the past five years and packing backpacks. She was a member of Natural Helpers for two years and participated in the LEO Club for one year.

As a member of the Christ United Methodist Church Youth Group, Wojewoda-Ko has completed many community service hours and participated in the following services: Food Pantry for four years; Genesis House for two years; Sunday School for one year as a teacher; and Vacation Bible School for one year as a teacher.

Wojewoda-Ko was a member of many school activities, including band, drama club, Spanish and art clubs as well as pep band and MATHCOUNTS.

Wojewoda-Ko has received several honors, including the Seal of Biliteracy. By maintaining her grades, she was awarded the High Honor Roll with Merit for all quarters for the entirety of her high school career and the Syracuse University Project Advance recognition award.

Outside of school, Wojewoda-Ko enjoys reading, painting and crafting. Congratulations, Jaelyn Wojewoda-Ko!
