Career fair season is here, and we’re looking for top talent across a variety of disciplines within the commercial real estate and construction industry—including construction management, civil engineering and more—to join our team. 

This fall, we are attending numerous career fairs across the country, where we’ll be sharing insights about Ryan, our dynamic company culture, and the diverse internship and job opportunities we have available. Check out the list below to find out where we’ll be this fall and stop by our booth – we can’t wait to meet you!

What to Expect

Stop by the Ryan booth to learn why we don’t just build buildings – we build stories. Learn how your expertise can play a pivotal role in building backdrops for communities, from projects in healthcare to retail to office and more.

Have one-on-one conversations with our team members, who can answer your questions and give their perspective on our company culture, work and impact. We’ll also provide insight into how to apply for our upcoming internships or open positions.

How to Prepare

1. Do Your Research. Before the career fair, check out the list of companies that will be present. Look at the companies’ “About” pages, recent social media posts and career pages to review the internships positions they offer. Make a list of companies that align with your career interests, then stop at those booths first before looking around at other companies. 
2. Preparation. Being prepared will help you feel more confident when walking into a large room full of new people. Items to prepare:

• Outfit: Business professional attire (suit, tie, blouse, etc.) is best. However, if you do not own a suit, pick an outfit that is modest and shows you made an effort before attending the fair. Try to avoid clothing that is too casual (sweats, athletic clothes, etc.). 
• Questions: Think of two to three questions to ask when you approach the booth. Bonus points if you think of questions that directly relate to something you saw on the company’s website (which shows you did your research). 
• Introduction: Prepare a brief, 30-60 second introduction that highlights your skills, major and career goals. Include any relevant coursework, projects or experiences that make you a strong candidate. Practice it so it feels natural and confident when speaking with recruiters. Pro Tip: Make sure to bring a notebook or portfolio to take notes during your conversations. 

3. Apply. Apply to the specific opportunity(s) that the employer mentioned. To formally be considered for a job, you will need to have an application in the company’s applicant tracking system.
