Even if the movie's logic ultimately spirals down into a vortex of hysteria, horror and hokum, I enjoyed the bulldozer intensity of the climax, which barely keeps a lid on the crackpot cult movie that's wrestling for the soul of this... blockbuster.

A masterpiece! It doesn't just give us where the aliens came from but how humanity started and it does it with visuals that i need to remind myself they aren't real. The casting couldn't have been done better. It's just breathtaking from start to finish yet many people found it bad, maybe because it's missing the boring tone and idiotic jumpscares of the original? The best piece of the franchise in my opinion and if anyone finds Alien a better movie than this then they must just rely on the feeling of being young and amazed of the even shittier movies we had before it. Ridley Scott overdid himself

This movie is a great setup for the Alien franchise. Although few things does not made sense to it. They have no impact on the story but it exists. I wish they had shot more scenes for the intro. Overall great visual treat with brilliant sound design and Score.
