What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Last Mimzy makes efforts to be a fun children's movie, but unsuccessfully juggles too many genres and subplots -- eventually settling as an unfocused, slightly dull affair.

Globe and Mail Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 4, 2008 Full Review Nathan Rabin AV Club New Line powerbroker/director Robert Shaye has made a children's film for stoners, a trippy, psychedelic fable that belongs in the DVD section of New Age bookstores alongside the strangely similar What The Fuck Do We Know? Rated: B Apr 5, 2007 Full Review Neil Smith BBC.com A low-key sci-fi that has an offbeat charm all its own. Addison B Most amazing movie I’ve ever seen in my life. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/26/24 Full Review Angela G I loved this movie. It is mostly a children's story but even as an adult I found it interesting and compelling. Such a cute movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/25/24 Full Review Dolly D I love this movie very much even though it feels like a fever dream and makes absolutely no sense (and kind of made me feel like I was on drugs or some shit) I hold this movie very dear to my heart even if it is insane Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/26/23 Full Review Cyrus K I will give credit to this movie that it actually tries to be a good kids movie. But sadly it ends up feeling generic, Overstuffed with side plots and genres, and overall just feeling as if it could have come from any other studio and could have been better. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/22 Full Review Audience Member Full of comedy, original fantasy & sweet kissing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
