One person has died in a crash on State Highway 35, Te Araroa Rd on Boxing Day.
The crash, which involved only one vehicle, was reported to police at 11.15am.
One person was unresponsive when found by emergency services, a police spokesperson said and tragically was unable to be revived.
One lane of the road is closed near the crash scene, which is approximately three kilometres west of Lottin Point Rd.

Police said the road was closed and would likely remain so for some hours.
Motorists planning to travel between Hicks Bay and Cape Runaway on Boxing Day were advised to delay travel.
It marks the third death on New Zealand roads since the holiday road toll began.
A motorcyclist died after a crash involving a car in Parkvale, Tauranga, on Christmas Eve, a police spokesperson said, and one person died at the scene after a single vehicle crash in the Auckland suburb of Wharehine, on Pah Hill Road just after 10pm, on 24 December.
