Way too many movie fans dismiss animated movies as “being made for kids,” as if that were a bad thing. Not to mention the fact that there are plenty of animated films made for adults as well. Animation is an incredibly complex art form, one which allows directors and writers to push past the limitations of the real world. Most people are familiar with Disney and Pixar, but there are countless studios and artists working on amazing animated features that don't get the recognition they deserve. We asked Watchworthy fans to share underrated movies they think everyone should watch, and their recommendations were on point. Which of these less-talked about animated classics do you also feel deserves more love?

Rewatched on my birthday last month… Made me realize I'd never seen the opening credits... And the song was beautiful.

I’ll go with an older Disney movie from 1995. And that movie is A Goofy Movie.. I think most people forgot about it.

I could name a lot if I sat down and thought of it, but The Road to El Dorado comes to my mind first. I’ve always loved it but it’s never been the most popular animated film, and there are quite a few people I’ve talked to who’ve never even heard of it!

Big Hero 6, great movie that was overshadowed by Frozen.
From Facebook commenter Tim L:
Love this movie. Fun fact: Big Hero 6 is actually a Marvel property hence why Stan Lee cameos in the movie.

That was one of my sister and I’s favorite movies as a kid. Neither of us realized how few people saw it, we assumed everyone loved it. It was years before we realized hardly anyone had seen it. We were shocked talking about it in a group and not one other person had seen it. We still make jokes about how now we’re gonna smash something with a hammer.

Why this is not an Easter/Passover classic on TV every year is a mystery to me.

Titan A.E. It's science fiction. It gets mixed reviews, but I've always enjoyed watching it.

The Mitchells vs. The Machines is one of my favorites. It kind of got lost in the pandemic shuffle but it’s worth your time
