Vote up the crews you'd trust to pull off the score of a lifetime.

A heist movie is often only as good as the crooks who come together to pull off the big job. Eclectic heist teams have a rich cinematic history and can be filled with lovable antiheroes looking for a life-changing score or cold-blooded career transgressors who love nothing more than the thrill and the rush.

A good caper crew can be a delicate balance, but as we've seen in countless classic caper flicks, there's no single right combination of thieves, targets, or motivations that make for a successful silver-screen joyride.

From large crews filled to the brim with experts who all get along like family to smaller, more violent teams of hardened pros who aren't shy when it comes to pulling a gun or punching a security guard, there are a handful of heist movie crews who really could pull off any big gig.

  • Who's In The Crew: Led by the charming and charismatic con man Danny Ocean (George Clooney), this crew includes an array of experienced heist professionals, including Danny's right-hand man and logistical fixer Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt), and genius pickpocket and grifter Linus Caldwell (Matt Damon). The team is rounded out by eight other seasoned pros (hence the title), including a demolitions expert, an acrobat, a financier, a card shark, and a tech expert, among other key players.

What Do They Take: The target for their heist is the high-security vault at the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas - on the night of a big boxing match - which contains an estimated $150 million.

What Are They Driven By: For the crew's financial backer, Reuben Tishkoff (Elliott Gould), it's a chance to get back at his business rival, Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia), who owns the Bellagio. The rest of the crew is driven by their cut of the huge sum of money being taken, and a love of the challenge. Danny is also secretly trying to win back the heart of his ex-wife, Tess Ocean (Julia Roberts), who has started a relationship with Benedict.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: Apart from playful bickering and occasional brotherly hazing, the crew is essentially all close friends. They have largely all worked together in the past and respect and trust each other enough to risk pulling off what is considered to be an impossible heist. If they weren't a well-oiled machine when it came time to get down to business, they never would have come close to succeeding.

  • Who's In The Crew: There are just so many people involved in the complex and dazzlingly intricate con game at the center of The Sting. The two main players are hotshot thief Johnny Hooker (Robert Redford) and master con artist Henry Gondorff (Paul Newman). They're joined by an army of fellow con men who all take part in the gig.

What Do They Take: A whopping $500,000 from criminal kingpin Doyle Lonnegan (Robert Shaw), which - in 1936, when the movie takes place - is quite a bit of cash (nearly $10 million in today's money).

What Are They Driven By: Hooker is seeking vengeance on Lonnegan, who has a hit out on Hooker due to an earlier job in which the young thief inadvertently stole from the crime boss. The con itself is just a chance to get back at the mobster, and in the end, Hooker doesn't even want his share. For Gondorff, the whole thing seems to be an enticing chance to play the big game one more time after years in retirement.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: There's a real connection between the veteran and the upstart that gives them a father/son, mentor/mentee vibe. It's the kind of connection that Redford and Newman were so brilliant at bringing to life on the big screen.

  • Who's In The Crew: Four next-level magicians with different skills make up this unlikely team of thieves. The crew is made of street illusionist Danny Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), hypnotist Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), escapologist Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher), and sleight-of-hand expert Jack Wilder (Dave Franco). They are led by a mysterious mastermind, who turns out to be the FBI agent "hunting" them, Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo).

What Do They Take: As part of a series of heists, the crew makes off with $140 million from the personal accounts of insurance magnate Arthur Tressler (Michael Caine).

What Are They Driven By: The crew, known as the Four Horsemen, takes direction from an unknown benefactor and agent who turns out to be Dylan, a former magician himself, who is seeking revenge for his father's demise. The horsemen themselves are trying to prove their talent and act as Robin Hood-esque figures, stealing from the rich to give to the poor.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: There's a ton of ego in a crew of four talented street magicians - especially when it comes to Danny Atlas - but there's also a lot of mutual respect and fraternal camaraderie with implicit faith in each other's talents.

  • Ant-Man

Who's In The Crew: The crew's key player is Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), a seasoned thief and ex-con who becomes even better at thieving once he gets a high-tech suit that allows him to shrink down to the size of an ant. He's joined by his fast-talking friend and former cellmate Luis (Michael Pena), who seems to know everybody and has all the connections, as well as Dave (T.I.), who works logistics and getaway driving, and Kurt (David Dastmalchian), a Russian hacker and tech expert.

What Do They Take: There are two main heists in Ant-Man, and both require a great deal of planning and perfect timing. First, they break into a scientist's home looking for stuff to nab (which is where Lang finds the Ant-Man suit), and then later, they all break into Pym Technologies' headquarters to take the dangerous Yellowjacket technology.

What Are They Driven By: During their first caper, Scott and his crew are motivated by a need to eat and generally get by. Being ex-cons, it's almost impossible for them to find work or hold down a job, so burglary becomes their only option. Later in the film, they are driven by an altruistic goal to protect the world from the machinations of dangerous madman and would-be Hydra-backer Darren Cross (Corey Stoll).

What's The Crew's Dynamic: There are few heist crews as funny and friendly as this group of criminals with hearts of gold. They care about each other, they care about doing what's right when the world is in danger, and they even start their own above-board security company in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

  • Who's In The Crew: This team of dangerous armed robbers is led by Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro), a criminal who has built his entire way of life around his illicit career. He's backed by his right-hand man Chris Shiherlis (Val Kilmer), communications and electronics expert Michael Cheritto (Tom Sizemore), and wheelman Trejo (Danny Trejo).

What Do They Take: There are several different robberies in the film - the first involves taking $1.6 million in bearer bonds. Later, the big score sees them trying to rob a bank for $12.2 million.

What Are They Driven By: That mythical one last big score that would allow them to get out of the business and retire. Although, as seen in McCauley's famous dinner conversation with Lieutenant Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino), the man chasing him, it seems apparent McCauley doesn't really know how to do anything else with his life.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: They are a dangerous crew of extreme professionals who care about themselves and their money. They are ruthlessly efficient and won't hesitate to shed blood - even if it means getting into an enormous gunfight in the streets of Los Angeles with the entire LAPD.

  • Who's In The Crew: Charlie Croker (Mark Wahlberg), a mastermind thief; Stella Bridger (Charlize Theron), an expert safecracker; Handsome Rob (Jason Statham), a talented getaway driver; Lyle (Seth Green), a hacker and tech expert; and Left Ear (Mos Def), a demolitions expert.

What Do They Take: $35 million in gold bullion, which belongs to a former member of their crew, Steve (Edward Norton), who betrayed them after a big heist.

What Are They Driven By: This heist is motivated almost entirely by vengeance. They are nabbing the same gold they already stole a year earlier, before Steve terminated the team's elder mentor - Stella's father, John Bridger (Donald Sutherland) - and left them all for dead in Venice.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: The crew pokes and prods one another playfully, but they have - for the most part - all worked together many times before and are all united in their common goal to get payback.

  • Who's In The Crew: This team of hardened criminals are brought together by mobster and career criminal Joe Cabot (Lawrence Tierney) and his son, Nice Guy Eddie (Chris Penn). The team uses color-based aliases to stay anonymous and includes Mr. Orange (Tim Roth), Mr. White (Harvey Keitel), Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi), Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen), Mr. Blue (Edward Bunker), and Mr. Brown (Quentin Tarantino).

What Do They Take: A bunch of diamonds in a robbery that isn't seen as part of the film. It's a heist movie sans the heist scene.

What Are They Driven By: The characters (except Mr. Orange) are all professional criminals who are motivated by the score, which is the same as every other job, until it goes wrong. Mr. Orange, on the other hand, is secretly a cop who was working to set them up but ended up getting caught in the crossfire.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: As they are mostly strangers, there's not a whole lot of trust. A few characters are friends going into it, but as soon as things go south, all loyalties and friendships prove to mean nothing.

  • Den of Thieves

Who's In The Crew: Former Marine Corps special forces vet Ray Merrimen (Pablo Schreiber) leads a group of fellow former soldiers in a series of armed robberies, including Levi Enson Levoux (50 Cent) and Bosco (Evan Jones). They are joined by bartender turned getaway driver Donnie Wilson (O'Shea Jackson Jr.).

What Do They Take: $30 million in discontinued bills, scheduled to be shredded, inside the Federal Reserve Bank of Downtown Los Angeles.

What Are They Driven By: The money. And after the first heist of an empty armored car (which proves to be part of a bigger heist), they end up in a standoff where some cops perish, escalating the situation and locking them in for the long haul. There's a heavy sense of inescapable determinism underlying the entire gig.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: Former Marines with ruthless determination and brutal efficiency with a heavy sense of responsibility for one another.

  • Triple Frontier

Who's In The Crew: The gruff and gritty team of former US Army Delta Force soldiers is organized by Pope (Oscar Isaac), now a security contractor in Colombia. He convinces some of his old Army buddies to join in on a big gig and brings on Redfly (Ben Affleck), logistics expert Ironhead (Charlie Hunnam), his brother Benny (Garrett Hedlund), and Catfish (Pedro Pascal), who serves as their chopper pilot.

What Do They Take: The plan is to steal $75 million from a drug lord. When they get to his house, they end up finding nearly $250 million.

What Are They Driven By: Each has his own goals and dreams for the money. Pope wants to save the life of the informant, Yovanna (Adria Arjona), who told them about the money in the first place, by getting her enough cash to escape the country. The others are driven by how the money could change their somewhat mundane post-service civilian lives.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: There's a militaristic camaraderie given their history, but also a rigid structure to their behavior, which gives them incredible precision and makes them brutally efficient. However, conflicting motivations and mental states drive a wedge between them as the stakes increase.

  • Who's In The Crew: Four Boston boys who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. The gang is led by Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) and his hot-headed accomplice, Jem Coughlin (Jeremy Renner). They are joined by Gloansy (Slaine) and Dez (Owen Burke).

What Do They Take: Apart from numerous bank robberies, the big heist revolves around nabbing more than $3 million in cash from Fenway Park.

What Are They Driven By: For this crew, most of the jobs are all about the money, and boosting stuff is the only life they know. Doug, however, agrees to the Fenway Park job under threat of death by a local mobster, so he's locked in whether he likes it or not.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: They're professional bank robbers, and while there's a fraternal camaraderie, that bond is threatened and eventually shatters as pressure is applied by FBI Special Agent Adam Frawley (Jon Hamm).

    Ocean's 8

Who's In The Crew: Recently paroled con artist, Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock); her former partner in crime, Lou (Cate Blanchett); a hacker named 8-Ball (Rihanna); Constance the pickpocket (Awkwafina); and a professional fence, Tammy (Sarah Paulson). They team up with a fashion designer named Rose (Helena Bonham Carter) and a jewelry designer named Amita (Mindy Kaling).

What Do They Take: Their main mark is a $150 million Cartier necklace called the Toussaint, which they plan to boost at the annual Met Gala. Secretly, they take a bunch of other valuable jewels at the black-tie affair, as well.

What Are They Driven By: For Debbie, the whole plan is secretly a way to get vengeance on the man who got her sent to the big house, an art dealer named Claude Becker (Richard Armitage), whom she frames for the theft of the Toussaint. The rest of the crew is driven by the score itself, which can help set them up financially to build new, better lives.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: The crew is a blend of professional thieves and newbie criminals who are trying to prove their worth to the crew. While there's an undercurrent of mistrust because of Debbie's hidden motivations, the crew bonds and is supportive of one another.

  • Who's In The Crew: This loose assemblage of criminals is brought together by a crime kingpin, Doc (Kevin Spacey), and includes an expert wheelman and getaway driver, Baby (Ansel Elgort), and three professional (yet unpredictable) triggermen: the charismatic Buddy (Jon Hamm), his wife Darling (Eiza Gonzalez), and the almost psychotic Bats (Jamie Foxx).

What Do They Take: The main gig revolves around stealing boxes of blank money order slips from the post office. Each box of slips is worth $250,000 through a black market fence, and there are potentially a lot of boxes.

What Are They Driven By: The triggermen are all hardened pros and have worked for Doc before. They are in it for the money to afford their lifestyles. Baby, however, is brought back into the world of crime when Doc threatens the people he loves, and he wants the money to afford care for his ailing father. He's clearly the odd man out in this group of merciless thieves.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: Combative, adversarial, paranoid, and antagonistic, all before the heist even kicks off. The crew's dynamic gets decidedly more violent after the heist as they all start to turn on one another.

  • Who's In The Crew: A group of street-racing thieves led by Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and former cop turned outlaw Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker). The crew contains a group of brawlers and car racers who seem to have whatever skills are needed in the moment.

What Do They Take: The crew sets out to take $100 million from the ruthless drug lord and crime kingpin Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida).

What Are They Driven By: The crew is motivated in equal parts by revenge for Reyes going after their people and a desire to use the money to build new lives for themselves, especially for Brian, whose girlfriend - Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) - is pregnant.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: As Dominic famously says many times throughout the Fast franchise, they're a family.

  • Who's In The Crew: The particular job in question requires very few players, who are brought together by a professional fence, Max (Marlon Brando). The thieves involved are Nick Wells (Robert De Niro), an aging master criminal who is looking to retire, and Jack Teller (Edward Norton), an ambitious, cocky, young thief who plans the heist. They also get help from a talented hacker, Steven (Jamie Harrold).

What Do They Take: An ornate French scepter, worth around $4 million, which is being kept at the Montreal Customs House after customs agents discovered it being smuggled into the country.

What Are They Driven By: For Max, this heist will get him out of debt with a mafia boss. Nick sees the score as a chance to finally get out of the life and set himself and his lady love Diane (Angela Bassett) up for life. Jack is in it for the money and the glory.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: While Max and Nick have a rapport after years of working together, there's little love lost between Nick and Jack. They don't trust one another, and the alliance between the old dog and the temperamental hotshot is reluctant at best. After the heist, it turns out Nick's distrust was well-placed, as Jack tries (and fails) to betray him.

    Logan Lucky

Who's In The Crew: "Crew" is a bit of a strong word. This group of thieves is organized by the well-meaning everyman, Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum), his war veteran brother Clyde Logan (Adam Driver), and their sister Mellie Logan (Riley Keough). They also incorporate incarcerated explosives mastermind and safecracker Joe Bang (Daniel Craig), and his doofus brothers Sam and Fish.

What Do They Take: Their major target is the giant vault of cash at the Charlotte Motor Speedway during the massively busy Memorial Day Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race.

What Are They Driven By: Each player is driven by their own goals, but for Jimmy - who was recently fired from his construction job - the main motivation is to make enough money to fight for custody of his daughter, whom he loves dearly. Clyde and Mellie are in it to help their family, and Joe Bang is in it for the cash and the thrill.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: There's some tension between everyone, as Jimmy and Clyde love one another as brothers but aren't professional criminals. Meanwhile, Joe is a pro and has his frustrations with the two fish-out-of-water newbies who are in over their heads.

  • Who's In The Crew: This unlikely group of thieves is comprised of the widows of a professional heist crew who lost their lives during a job. Veronica (Viola Davis), Linda (Michelle Rodriguez), and Alice (Elizabeth Debicki) team up with Alice's babysitter, Belle (Cynthia Erivo).

What Do They Take: Their plan is to steal $5 million from the home of a local politician, Jack Mulligan (Colin Farrell).

What Are They Driven By: Their initial motivation is to use the money to pay back a local crime boss, Jamal (Brian Tyree Henry), to whom their husbands were indebted. Feeling they have been left to pay for their husbands' crimes, the widows see the score as a way to get out and make new lives.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: There's a stress and strain between the small group, as they are all inexorably connected to one another, but they also are not professional criminals. They still take the responsibility seriously, as they all have skin in the game.

  • Who's In The Crew:  This group of aspiring criminals is made up of four women who are pushed to their limits and take to robbing banks. The crew consists of Cleo (Queen Latifah), Stoney (Jada Pinkett Smith), Frankie (Vivica A. Fox), and T.T. (Kimberly Elise).

What Do They Take: The quartet of criminals commits a series of bank robberies, which all lead to their biggest score - robbing the Downtown Federal Bank in Los Angeles.

What Are They Driven By: Each woman in the crew has her own reasons. They have all been unfairly treated by the people in their lives or dealt unjust hands by fate and have reached the end of their ropes. They hope to use the money they steal to solve their problems or start new lives with new opportunities.

What's The Crew's Dynamic: The four women in the crew come from a place of mutual understanding, and while the tensions of the crimes can make some waves, their shared frustrations form an unshakable bond.
