The ASOC Bengal Bus is a student-led FREE outbound transportation service available for Oxy students who do not drive or have a vehicle. We primarily offer rides for appointments, to run errands, etc, within a 7-mile radius of campus.
How to Use the Bengal Bus
You can request a ride with Bengal Bus by texting (213) 349-5464 during our regular hours of operation. Please text us your name and the address of the location you would like to be dropped off. You can find a Bengal Bus driver parked in front of Rush Gym, Monday - Saturday, and they take rides on a first-come first-served basis.
The ASOC Bengal Bus also provides weekly programming to local businesses and shops in Eagle Rock and Highland Park. Please follow us on Raftr to stay informed about our upcoming Wildcard Trips!

Bengal Bus Wildcard Trips
On weekends, the Bengal Bus takes a group of Oxy students to various destinations to explore the greater Los Angeles area! Past trips have included local flea markets, The Huntington Gardens, LACMA, The Broad, Santa Monica and Malibu beach. Follow the ASOC Bengal Bus Raftr to get notified and sign up for Wildcard Trips.
Important facts to know when using the ASOC Bengal Bus:
- ASOC Bengal Bus provides only for Oxy students.
- The Oxy van capacity seats no more than 6 passengers at a time.
- ASOC Bengal Bus will not provide rides to destinations that exceed a 7-mile radius of campus.
- ASOC Bengal Bus does not take students from off-campus locations to other off-campus locations.
- ASOC Bengal Bus is not a service you can reserve in advance. We take rides on a first-come first-served basis the day of.
- We DO NOT guarantee round-trip rides. Rides back to campus are dependent on driver bandwidth and hours of operation.
- We do not provide rides during the day from residential halls to lower campus. Please contact Disability Services for student accessibility accommodations.

ASOC Bengal Bus does not provide support for field trips for academic departments. The ASOC Bengal Bus is a student service that runs on a schedule with limited drivers and facility vans. Please contact the CCBL Director, Celestina Castillo [email protected], who supports academic departments for off-campus field trips. You may also contact the Oxy Facilities Department Vehicle Rental
Program, as this is the policy for all departments for off-campus trips.
Airport Shuttles
During the holiday and spring breaks, the ASOC Bengal Bus offers rides to Hollywood Burbank Airport and Burbank Train Station. We also offer rides to DTLA Union Station where you can take the FlyAway to LAX. For the safety of our student-drivers, we do not provide rides to LAX Airport.The Bengal Bus does not provide rides from the airport to campus.
