Multiple police cars were spotted in a “high-speed chase” near Oxford as onlookers saw sirens and blue lights.

Locals saw around five police cars and an ambulance heading down Banbury Road in Kidlington at around 3.50pm on Saturday, January 4, before the vehicles stopped near the Black Horse pub.

They then moved on to a specific house in Wilson Way in the Grovelands area following what was described as a “chase” with the emergency service vehicles having sirens and blue lights on.

One anonymous eyewitness said: “I watched several police cars, approximately five, and an ambulance driving down the Banbury Road towards the centre of Kidlington leading from the airport direction.

“They were driving at about 50mph with the lights and sirens on and then were stopped roughly outside the Black Horse pub.

“So a friend and I decided to walk out to see what was going on only to find they’d left the pub area, so we walked into the Grovelands area and found them all parked outside a single house on Wilson Way.

“They were talking to the people from a house out front and I overhear them saying ‘so he went that way’ leading me to believe they are looking for someone.”

Thames Valley Police has been approached for further information surrounding the incident but officers said that they could not find any record of it on their systems.
