Marine Recreational Forecasts - Hawke Bay
Area Description:
Inshore waters between Cape Kidnappers and Portland Island.
Situation:
A weak ridge covers most of New Zealand, and the low pressure east of the Chatham Islands continues to weaken today. This results in a light southwest flow over most of the country, but a northeast flow develops tomorrow as the ridge slowly moves east. The weak ridge persists on Friday, but the northern and eastern North Island are exposed to a developing easterly flow with rain or showers. This easterly flow and wet weather will persist through Saturday and Sunday, moving further down the North Island.
