Hammer-IMS, a well-known European company and brand for industrial quality control equipment, has opened a new office in Spartanburg, SC, from which it plans to optimize and distribute its flagship products for inline basis-weight and thickness control for the nonwovens industry.
Only having sustainable products in its portfolio, Hammer-IMS provides solutions for inline quality and process control for carded nonwovens including, for example, the basis-weight measurement of a batt right after carding or a felt in-between or after entanglement or heating. Hammer-IMS also excels in providing intuitive visualizations and KPI’s such as 2D heat maps of the basis-weight topography, coefficients of variations, uniformity indices and many more. Furthermore, Hammer-IMS is pioneering in laser technology in the world of nonwovens to come to solutions that provide both thickness and basis-weight control. Hammer-IMS also provides innovative camera solutions for inline inspection of nonwoven variations or presence of foreign objects.
Hammer-IMS was founded in Belgium in 2016 and wth an initial focus on nonwovens. The list of international European nonwoven customers includes Dilo Systems, Heimbach, Groz-Beckert, Autins and many others. Hammer-IMS believes the wave of sustainable quality control also has potential in the USA nonwovens market, and therefore has opened up this branch in Spartanburg County.
