Fibertex Nonwovens is growing through new technologies and capacity expansion in North America. The latest expansion was celebrated in Gray Court, SC last month in a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Fibertex NA President Carlos Benatto, CEO Jørgen Bech Madsen and Director of Commercial Business Development and Marketing, Jonathan Layer, marked the opening of the facility’s new spunlace line with a ribbon cutting event. Esteemed speakers Chairman Brown Patterson, Laurens County Council and Chantal Fryer from South Carolina Department of Commerce (SCDOC) also addressed the crowd.
“What an amazing day and another remarkable milestone,” says Jørgen Bech Madsen, who congratulated the team in Gray Court. “We operate by the credo that ‘Results are Created by People’ and today we recognize the tremendous effort of our people and what Winning Together can look like. With this expansion we further strengthen Fibertex’s global partnership with our valued wipes and hygiene customers and prepare ourselves for accelerated demand for sustainable materials.”
Fibertex announced in May 2021 that it would invest $50 million in a new spunlace line in North America to meet the growing need for locally-made nonwovens in North America. The Danish nonwovens producer acquired the site from Mogul Nonwovens in 2019. At the time, the site contained one spunlace line; in 2020, the company added a production line at the site based on advanced needlepunch technology.
