HARRISON, NJ (May 15, 2023) - Lion Sports Media announced today the international friendly match between the national teams of Ecuador and Bolivia for Saturday, June 17 at 7 p.m. ET at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey.
Ecuador returns home to the United States to face its counterpart from Bolivia. The Ecuadorian Tri enjoys the support of its people in New Jersey and that is precisely where a new process will begin towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
After the World Cup in Qatar, Ecuador has become one of the best teams on the continent and is currently ranked 41st in the most recent FIFA ranking.
Felix Sánchez took the reins as Head Coach of the Ecuadorian team and achieved his first victory in March of this year against Australia. The duel against Bolivia will be the first against a CONMEBOL opponent.
Bolivia has renewed its World Cup vows for 2026 and with the expansion of the tournament, friendly matches like the one this June against Ecuador are of vital importance. The Bolivians are currently ranked 82nd in the FIFA ranking.
Both teams have the objective of strengthening their squads for the start of the World Cup qualifiers and the 2024 Copa América that will be played in the United States.
Red Bull Arena, home of New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer, opened its doors on March 20, 2010, and has a capacity for 25,000 spectators.
