Undergoes successful surgery
Carter sustained his left shoulder injury during a pre-draft workout, and the Kings were aware of the issue when selecting him with the 13th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. The Kings announced Thursday that they'll update his status in approximately six months, so the 22-year-old will presumably miss at least the first few months of the 2024-25 season. However, Carter is expected to make a full recovery with no long-term concerns.

Sticking with Sacramento for SL
Timme played for the Kings during the California Classic Summer League but was listed on Toronto's roster for the Las Vegas Summer League. However, he'll remain with the Kings in Las Vegas and will be replaced by Fardaws Aimaq on the Raptors' roster.

Drops 30 points in Summer League
Ellis closed the 2023-24 season in the starting lineup for Sacramento, but the Kings opted to give Ellis more time to refine his game in the Summer League. Over three games in the California Classic, Ellis averaged 20.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists over 29.0 minutes.
