Amber Taylor, FNP, APRN, CCRN

Advanced practice provider Nicole Taylor is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP), advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and critical care registered nurse (CCRN). Her experience includes family practice, cardiovascular intensive care, medical intensive care and employer-provided health and wellness. She has been a nurse practitioner since 2016.

Nicole earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, and her master’s degree in nursing at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).

Her primary clinical interests are urinary frequency, urinary incontinence, hematuria, voiding dysfunction, urinary tract infections, prostate issues, bladder cancer and kidney stones.

Participating in hospital rotations while she was in high school opened the door to Nicole’s career in medicine. Even then, she had a passion for helping others, and being a healthcare provider allows her to be there for patients and their families. 

She takes a holistic approach to patient care. She wants her patients to see her as sincere, easy to talk to, reliable and thorough. It’s important for her to understand all factors, including lifestyle, other medical problems and barriers to care, so that she can work with patients to come up with an effective and attainable treatment plan. She also wants to provide information that enables patients to engage in decision-making.

The high point of practicing for Nicole is celebrating patients’ wins, small and large, from sleeping through the night to non-recurrence of bladder cancer.

When she’s not working, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband and their two small children, as well as traveling, hiking and tackling projects around the house.
