Chevy Highlights Equinox EV During MLB

Chevrolet is highlighting the ease of driving the 2025 Equinox EV during creative running on Major League Baseball and elsewhere.

The 30-second spot, from Commonwealth/McCann, broke last week during the MLB All-Star Game. It features the 1982 hit song “Don’t Change” by the Australian Rock band INXS.

The song was chosen because it fits the premise of the TV spot for Equinox EV, says Kathleen Murawski, marketing and advertising manager for the Chevrolet Equinox EV and Blazer EV.

“We want our customers to know they don’t have to change their life to go EV,” Murawski tells Marketing Daily. “Equinox EV has the range, price and cargo space we know our customers want and need.”

The voiceover describes how the family shown in the spot is benefiting from the EV.

“With Chevy Equinox EV, you can wake up every day with a full charge,” according to the voiceover. “Your crew can have a roomy, no-compromise interior. And starting at around $34,995, you and your money can go further in America’s most affordable EV — over 315 miles. Equniox EV is a vehicle you know, value you’d expect, and a dealer right down the street. You can go EV without changing a thing.”

The spot includes the brand’s current tagline: “Together, let’s drive,” which was introduced in October.

Debuting on the MLB All-Start Game was a good fit for the brand, Murawski says. “Chevy has strong ties with the MLB and baseball and we wanted to connect with baseball fans across the U.S.”

The national TV spot may be one of the last from the longtime General Motors agency, which was recently displaced by Anomaly after a review.

GM says Commonweath/McCann's holding company, Interpublic, will remain on the roster, but it unknown to what extent. The agency has worked with the automaker dating back to 2012.
