Lindsay Lohan Pushes Tea Breaks In Pure Leaf Campaign

Pure Leaf tea brand, part of PepsiCo, is out with a new campaign fronted by actor Lindsay Lohan who promotes the idea of taking a tea break during the workday to recharge and prevent burnout.

In the anchor spot, set in an office, Lohan laments, “It’s like we forgot breaks even exist,” in today’s go-go work culture.

Going to the bathroom and “sad desk lunches,” don’t count, she reminds us.

“It’s time for a tea break!” she exhorts the office team, which warms to the idea quickly with the star’s encouragement.

The work is from Edelman, which made history last week at Cannes becoming the first legacy PR agency to win a Titanium Lion.

The campaign is reinforced by an Edelman study that found that three and five workers struggle to take breaks during the workday. And nearly two-thirds found that when they do take a “quality” break they feel recharged.

Along with the campaign, the brand is activating a national promotion including a free bottle of Pure Leaf and tips for making the most of a work break. The promotion is being done in partnership with Mind Share Partners.

A separate program, also in conjunction with Mind Share Partners is a grant program that will provide funding for small businesses and non-profits to implement revitalizing break initiatives.
