Yesterday I was fortunate enough to attend an F.A Council meeting where the F.A Refereeing Strategy Year 1 Review was presented. I facilitated conversations around the below three topics and we will utilise discussions to help shape the upcoming seasons of the strategy... 1) How can the game help support the significant growth in referee numbers? 2) How do we improve players' negative view of refereeing? 3) How do we support the pro game's participant charter and its positive impact at the grassroots level towards referees?

DON’T JUST MANAGE YOUR REFEREES! Our CEO, Helen Foord, has written a blog to help you with the referee process of directory submissions. This can be a confusing minefield that needs to be navigated correctly as these marks are equally just as important as the rest. Therefore, it isn’t good enough, any longer, for us to simply manage the referee part of the process. Rather than viewing referees as an administrative process – as many directories consultants do – we’re massively evolving our services over the coming year to bring in genuine, valuable consultancy and support on all aspects of the referee part of directory submissions. Understanding the accreditation processes for football practitioners can be a nightmare. Here are 3 key considerations when looking to gain accreditations: 1. Cost - most are expensive, ask yourself whether it will give you a 'return on investment'. 2. Acceptability - not all accreditations are 'accepted' by employers, check job specs for info. 3.
