This week is The FQ Wellness Week! Our company will be closed from June 24 – July 5 to focus on our well-being. No meetings, no emails, no Slack messages — only space to unplug, be with our loved ones, travel, hang at home, and do what we love to do. Why do we have wellness weeks twice each year? We know that rest is critical to our success as a fast-growing organization, and while we offer unlimited PTO, we believe it’s important for the company itself to take a break, too. We’re also working hard to set the agenda on what the future of work will look like, including mandatory breaks. It’s been an extraordinary first half of 2024 working to change the equation and close the gender gap across industries. We’ll be re-energized for the back half of the year and continue to advance equality together. Thank you to our partners, collaborators, and community. We’ll get back to your DMs and emails July 8!

I met with a leader a few weeks ago & we talked about how change typically doesn’t start with politics or new policies, but rather when businesses enforce the change, that’s where the true innovation happens. Love what you’re doing at The Female Quotient

Appreciate the transparency. I like to think of these unabashed declarations as permission slips of sorts that have a positive ripple effect. The more we share the more common it will become. We have instituted monthly PTO days to foster self-care and restoration. But to be honest, even though we have rotating coverage and don't miss client deadlines, I find myself wary of sharing this too openly with clients for fear they'll put us in the "hard to work with" category.

This is amazing! I love that your company prioritizes well-being and encourages everyone to take a break. What a refreshing and innovative approach to work-life balance! 🙌

It's wonderful that this post is shining a light on something a lot of folks talk about but don't think really exists. It's almost as though it's a pipe dream that is an exclusive employee issue but not a reality. Not that I know a lot about what all the companies out there are doing, but the ones that talk openly about it and that pop up on my feed tend to be women owned/led companies. I wonder if anyone's done a comprehensive study about company wide PTO. Another company I'm thinking of with amazing benefits at the company level is CHANI led by Chani Nicholas and Sonya Passi.

Quality over Quantity. There is always room for improvement.

I took way less time when I had unlimited PTO and so many companies don’t actually mean this anyway. What you are doing with breaks for all is an amazing step forward for healthy workers.
