Creating higher quality talent experiences | Senior - Exec Search | Coach | Transformative Leader | Papa to Alessandro
Met an incredibly passionate and authentic senior sales and marketing leader today who has recently returned home from over 15 years living in the UK and Middle East. They are finding the transition back challenging as you'd expect both personally and professionally. Interestingly, the challenges professionally is around how they translate global experience into a local market. This is someone who has led sales and marketing teams for some of the most well known global luxury brands and helped expand into new channels and geographies. Translating that in the current climate where 'making impact now' is being seen as most important has been a challenge. Considering that the UK market, which was where they were most recently, tends to shape trends here, it's strange that they are not getting the cut through. Leads me to think, does 'experience' (or lack of) in the local market trump skills developed globally even when total years of experience is greater overall? Having transitioned back from living overseas myself, I know that it can be hard to translate your expertise locally but should it? This person is someone I'd love to help so if you are looking for a proven senior commercial leader with the ability to leverage sales, marketing and strategy expertise to help grow a market or product, I'd happily introduce you. #localtalent #internationaltalent #execsearch #salestalent #marketingtalent

Recalling my trip to the Vinitaly exhibition last year and this year, I am increasingly convinced that personal interaction and overall communication skills are key elements of successful professional and personal development. When it comes to procurement, undoubtedly the primary responsibility of an employee in this position is to organize the procurement process itself in order to make it efficient, transparent, and understandable. However, immediately following this, there is a second, no less important duty: to build strong, mutually beneficial, and simply good professional relationships with suppliers. I am more than certain: despite procurement being essentially a transaction, it is impossible to establish effective and long-term partnerships without good relationships with suppliers. It's worth investing one's working time in this. No matter how much procurement, shipping, and sales management systems are improved, nothing can replace communication and interpersonal skills. #vinitaly2024 #winesales #buyer #procurment #communicationskills #strongpartnership
