As the scorching summer heat settles in, please spare a thought for our feathered and furry friends around us. Remember - a little can create a ripple. Here are some ways: 1. Keep an open bowl full of water on terraces, balconies, and even street corners 2. Limit outdoor activities that may disturb or stress animals, such as avoiding loud noises, excessive use of machinery, or disturbing nesting areas. 3. Plant trees and shrubs that provide shade and shelter for birds and animals. 4. Encourage your friends, colleagues and family members to be mindful of the challenges faced by birds and animals during the summer. Our planet is for every life form, so let's contribute to a harmonious coexistence with nature. Wishing you a happy Friday and a relaxing weekend ahead! #SummerChallenges #SpareAThought #BirdsAndAnimals #CoexistWithNature

Curious about how non-migrating birds brave Canadian winters? Here are a few ways they survive the cold! Birds have a countercurrent heat exchange system - With blood vessels to and from the feet being in close proximity, facilitating the warming of blood flowing back to the body by the concurrently circulating blood heading to the feet. The newly cooled blood in the feet lowers heat loss from the feet, and the warmed blood flowing back into the body prevents the bird from becoming to cold. And because bird circulation is so fast, blood doesn’t remain in the feet long enough to freeze. Roosting together - While different species do this for a variety of reasons, birds are often seen huddling together for warmth and security as they sleep. Fluffing their feathers- All birds maintain warmth by skillfully fluffing their feathers, creating a protective layer that traps pockets of air around their bodies, effectively insulating them against the cold.

Spring paints the world in wildfire hues, but let's keep the heat where it belongs - simmering in our hearts, not scorching the earth. Embrace April's adventures, but whisper "No!" to reckless flames. Here's how: 🔥Mind sparks, they're embers in disguise. Follow rules, respect burn bans, keep flames low. 🔥Become a forest Sherlock - scan for smoke whispers, report instantly. Your eye could be the missing piece in nature's safety puzzle. 🔥Map your escape route - knowledge is your compass if things get toasty. 🔥Drench the drama - unleash a watery downpour on your campfire, ensure every ember shivers with the chill. Leave only frosty ashes. 🔥Bury the heatwave - pile on cool earth, no ember escapes an earthen tomb. 🔥Feel the freeze - don't leave until everything's cool to the touch. Trust your fingertips. Share these tips like wildflowers! Together, we build a fire-resistant wonderland where nature blooms and adventures sparkle. @LeaveNoTrace @SmokeyBear #DiscoverCarbonCountyWY #DiscoverCCWY #CarbonCountyWY #carboncountywyo #carboncountywyoming #carboncounty #wyoming #thatswy #thatswyoming #FireSafety #WildfirePrevention #ProtectOurPlanet #WinterWonders #StopWildfires #PreventFires #FireAware #ProtectOurForests #LeaveNoTrace #CampResponsibly #DrownYourCampfire #SparkFree #RespectTheForest
