The NSWTA fully supports Jersey Day, September 1st, 2023. We have seen first-hand the importance of organ donation and its impact on one of our staff, who, without it, may no longer be with us. We would love for you, your team, and our referees to join us in supporting this cause. It’s easy to do in 4 easy steps. 1. Before or after your game tonight get your team together or with your opposition or just by yourself and take a photo or video in your ‘Jersey’. 2. Post on Instagram and tag us NSW Touch Football, Jersey Day and use the hashtags #jerseydayau #donatelife 3. Explain why you are supporting JERSEY DAY in your caption, to help spread the word about having a conversation about organ donation. You’ll find some examples below. 4. Send your photo to [email protected] “JERSEY DAY is the perfect opportunity to start a discussion with your loved ones about organ donation”

The NSWTA Board has decided to initiate an independent Governance and Operating Model Review of the organisation. This decision underscores our commitment to continuous improvement in governance and operational models, which are essential for the success of high-performing sporting organisations. As the sports sector faces evolving social, economic, technological, and political challenges, it is crucial to clarify our purpose and identify the most effective governance and operating models. Despite significant changes in the sporting landscape over the past decade, the governance and operating model for Touch Football in NSW has remained largely unchanged. To secure the sport’s future success, the NSWTA Board has resolved to undertake a thorough review of our Governance and Operating Model. NSW Touch Football wishes to advise that after a decade of exceptional service, Chairperson Mark Hearnden has announced that he will not be seeking re-election at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM). In addition to Mark's announcement, Ian Matthew has stepped down from his role as Technical Director, effective immediately. He will remain in his role as the NSWTA Referees Director, and the position of Interested Director (Technical) will remain vacant until the November AGM. Following Mark Hearnden's announcement, the board elected Anthony Dudeck as the new Chairperson during its meeting on August 8th, with the change taking effect immediately. We’re thrilled to highlight the incredible female coaches in sport! In June 2024, we were fortunate to have several female coaches participate in the Sport NSW-led Fast Track for Female Coaches Program. This program, completed by 39 dedicated women, focused on skills beyond the technical and tactical aspects of coaching. Participants gained insights from experienced coaches and experts across various fields, creating a valuable support network for female coaches. Hear what this inspiring group, including Belinda Thomson from Taren Point Touch Association and Nicole Grose from Dubbo Touch Association, had to say about their experience in the Fast Track for Female Coaches Program. #WomenInSport #FemaleCoaches #CoachingExcellence #FastTrack #SportNSW #Empowerment #Leadership #SupportNetwork
