Earlier this year, we embarked on a rewarding paw-tnership with the Toronto Humane Society (THS) and discovered that our values align perfectly in connecting animals in need with loving homes. After exploring tons of different partnership options, we proudly became a formal sponsor of THS's monthly Community Day and Food Bank Program for 2024. This initiative ensures pet owners have the supplies and resources necessary to care for their beloved pets. As sponsors, we’ve contributed $25,000 in sponsorship cash and $50,000 worth of advertising space on the Kijiji platform to bring more awareness to THS! As part of our partnership, today we organized a Team Experience Day at THS. It was great to tour the facility, socialize with adorable animals - including dogs, cats, turtles, rabbits, guinea pigs, and rats - and even get a little hands-on time. Our team also helped bag and label cat food and set up supplies for the event. It was an unforgettable day filled with joy and a shared commitment to making a difference for animals and their owners. 🐶🐱❤️

When feds bust dogfighters, they're charged with "conspiracy." The ASPCA, the Humane Society of the United States and Best Friends Animal Society, which is a front for dogfighters, are all part of that conspiracy. Don't believe that? Here's just one example: National Dog Fighting Awareness Day is Monday, April 8. Last week, police/feds took 100+ pitbulls from eight New Jersey dogfighters, 78 pitbulls from Alabama dogfighter Carlton Adams and 73 pitbulls from California dogfighter Jorge Ayala's property. New Jersey dogfighter Bruce Low Jr. and his family/friends had been investigated since "late 2021," per 6abc-dot-com; Alabama dogfighter Carlton Adams had been investigated since September 2023, per AL-dot-com; and California dogfighter Jorge Ayala, whose "whereabouts are unknown," per NBC Bay Area, had been investigated since "early March." If you think it's a coincidence that feds decided to swoop in and rescue all these "poor, poor dogs" a few days before National Dog Fighting Awareness Day, please do not vote in the upcoming presidential election. Stay home. Smoke your weed. Eat your edibles. Drink your wine. Binge watch TV. Leave the heavy lifting to the rest of us. #animalcruelty #animalwelfare #animalrights #catsoflinkedin #kittenseason #catrescue #greed #gambling #corruption #nationaldogfightingawarenessday https://lnkd.in/gPs4x3u4

Animal Ask recently published a new report exploring Shareholder Activism. 📈 What is shareholder activism?: buying the shares of corporations and leveraging the rights associated with that partial ownership. Author Max Carpendale explores the viability of this tactic for animal advocacy. 🐔 🐟 🦐 A couple of takeaways: – Shareholder activism campaigns rely on 1) some level of background public support for the reform in question or 2) some other financial or reputational advantage to the company. – Shareholder activism campaigns may work best when they are run alongside other animal advocacy campaigns also pushing for the reform in question. Any thoughts? Reach out with your comments! 🙂 Also: help us sharing the report in your network! 📢 https://lnkd.in/e6YeC9-q

A few years ago as I stood at my white board writing down business goals, the very first one was giving 10% of any coaching earnings to animal charities. There are so many good people helping animals who can't help themselves. Amazing how far a small amount of kindness goes. In Aruba, there are stray dogs everywhere. This is my first time down here in the summer/fall months. It is significantly hotter than the Decembrer/January/February months I am used to. It is difficult seeing these dogs in the heat without food and/or water. I contacted a few local shelters to see how I could help. I ended up with a foster dog for about a month. Just got him yesterday. His name is Buzz. It is a bit of an adjustment for him as I don't think he has spent any time indoors. It is always nice to be able to give back and make a difference in the lives of animals. It has always been a big part of who I am. If you are considering real estate investing for the first time, reach out to me. Let me get you over the hump of actually pulling the trigger on your first deal by guiding you through the process and eliminate costly mistakes. #animals #dogs #rentalproperty #rentalproperties #realestatecoaching #realestatecoach #realestateinvesting #rentalincome

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐓 𝐈𝐒 𝐃𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝟏𝟏𝐭𝐡! 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭! 𝙎𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙡 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨! For a very limited time we have available a really fun shirt design to commemorate the move of the cats to Turpentine. To arrive by Christmas purchase by December 7. The last day to purchase is December 11. See bit.ly/3kRkjzQ. This will be the official shirt of the possible event described below if we have it. Proceeds will go toward the lifelong care of the cats. 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: 𝑾𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒂 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒚? A number of supporters have suggested we hold one last event on site during the first quarter of 2024, after the cats are gone, where supporters, volunteers, and staff could be together in person one last time to enjoy the peaceful setting of the sanctuary, each other’s company, and commemorate the successes of the last thirty-one years. What is important though is that people attend understanding that this is to be a positive celebration of our enormous success as a nonprofit and as a group of likeminded people who made the success possible. So, we are putting this idea out there for comment to see if there is enough interest to make the effort worthwhile. We would plan to make a film that would review the history of the sanctuary and discuss the future plans. The premiere showing of the film would be at this event. We are thinking about including a walk through the sanctuary, spending some time inside the Vacation Rotation Enclosure, and light food and refreshments. We would ask for a donation of $100 per person to cover costs (food, port-o-potty rental, etc.) and help support the cats at Turpentine Creek where we are funding the costs of their lifelong care. Did you know pet owners have a higher than average propensity to leave charitable bequests in their wills? This generosity, combined with the way responsible pet owners tend to use estate plans to care for their pets when they pass away, means that animal organizations are uniquely positioned to help their supporters while securing legacy gifts.
