Onboarding the first set of paid users is never easy for any early-stage startup. It’s a challenge made tougher by trust deficits, competition, and low brand awareness. For us, launching our “Olympic Style Inter-School Competition” wasn’t without its setbacks. Many schools turned us down, but a few believed in the idea, and thanks to them, we have crossed 1000+ student registrations (and still counting!) with 50 days left before the event kicks off. 🙌 We are on track to onboard 1500+ students and 20+ schools in the series of Unbound Sports Championshisps—Urja School Games (USG) #Ahmedabad🎉 As the grassroots sports in India faces some deeper challenges that we witnessed in this journey: 1. The difficulty in developing a scouting mechanism to identify young talent. 2. The lack of continuous development programs for athletes, especially those who tend to drop out after Grade 9 as academics take over sports. 3. The absence of scholarships or funding for talented young athletes, making it harder for them to pursue their dreams.
