Again am reposting because I understand the importance of film promotion and marketing at national, provincial or state level as key elements of film business andI have been driving and championing this film business capacity building conversations for almost a decade now. Things don't just happen. We must be intentional and pay close attention to how our local creative economy can be deliberately stimulated to contribute it's quota to the economy especially with the current state of our local currency. In Nigeria, we have the authentic stories, we have the talents but yet the huge gaps in attracting international productions and the limitations such as lack of government incentives, no clear or known intentional plans to promote Nigerian film industry globally by those it's their responsibility, saturation of local market with so much local productions with no plans on distribution except getting to the streamers which has become as hard a camel passing through the eye of a needle. I could go on and on but with Nigerian International Film & TV Summit we remain committed to the global promotion and increasing the visibility of credible people who make things happen locally and our unheard success stories. Just thinking ahead and predicting how the future of cinema will be. After Covid, most audience are used to seeing cinema at home. Cinema producers made films for the theater. They thought of OTT as additional revenue. A cinema producer has two primary revenue sources - PVR/Inox/Cinepolis, etc who run theaters. The second are Amazon, Netflix, Zee 5, etc. Right now, the ones who run theaters are suffering from OTT. Audience are not coming to theaters because they know the films will come on OTT at some point. There might come a time when the theater owners will insist that they will only exhibit films not sold to OTT. And OTT platforms may insist not to release a film in theaters. There is a third model. Big OTT platforms might buy out cinema theater companies. They will then decide how long a film will run in the theater before putting it on their platforms.

Currently, tickets cost nearly Rs 350-400 in India Movie theaters can host special screenings, Q&A sessions, panel discussions, trivia nights, costume contests, and other activities that encourage participation and interaction among the audience and the filmmakers. Cinemas can increase footfall by focusing on important factors that influence moviegoers' preferences. Factors such as the type of story, genre, and artists/casts are considered significant in the selection of films.
