One month into the new year! Jack and I are no strangers to the fact that January is one of the hardest months for hospitality businesses. That said we are incredibly fortunate to be more today, than the single coffee shop we started as, we have a nation of loyal regulars and international fans of damn fine coffee behind us! We have really put our all into 2024 starting at full speed… We put the first beans through our awesome new roaster, tripling our output, without sacrificing quality or the planet. Thanks Giesen Coffee Roasters We brought Tom Woollam and Redefine Studio into the 92 Degrees family, propelling our brand to new levels. We opened our 3rd Leeds store, our most successful opening weekend to date! #LoveLeeds kudos to William for how smoothly that went! We brought our “Damn fine coffee club” to market, bringing amazing value to our customers and incredible recurring revenue to our business! We have so many exciting things on the horizon, too many infact to list. And it’s not to say that we have got here without challenge, it’s been a slog, and there is more ahead, but it’s worth it. The good times and the bad, we learn, adjust, develop and do it all over again! This would not be possible without the whole team working together, focused on every detail! Too many names to mention everyone, but all valued and all celebrated! We are, all of us, delightfully complicated tapestries of our past, the ups and the downs alike, and they ready us for the opportunity the future holds, they bring us here, armed with knowledge and experience. Our past gives us context, but it doesn’t define us, the actions we make now and how they play out, that’s what matters, that’s where we should all focus. 🚀 It’s interesting as well talking of context - how easy it is to forget that not everyone knows us, not the details anyway, even less so the past that brought us here (aside from what we selectively share). So in the interests of getting to know me (and each other) better, and with January in mind, here’s something that you may not know… I’ve been “dry” (AF / not drinking) since last January, it’s been a weird journey, thankfully not alone, my husband has been on the same path, we have defo benefited from aweosme brands like Lucky Saint | B Corp™ filling out the #AFBEER space with great products. I feel healthier and happier for it and have gained more headspace and mental clarity. It’s come with an occasional side helping of feeling like an outsider, but I’m kinda used to that, also being #vegan and #lgbtqia Anyway, more than enough words from me, excited to see if anyone read this far and wants to share anything about themselves…
